BINGHMTON UNIVERSITY

in the year  2003 traveled to study at BINGHPMTON University located in UPSTATE NY. 

He was recruited by MICHAEL STARK who later said he knew Dan would choose them because "this is the university closest to Sasha".

Dan was offered a number of universities, and one of the reasons he chose Binghamton was the fact that the university had a significant number of Jews.

​

Just before he signed, he asked his coach that the contract should state that Dan would not play on Memorial Day and on Yom Kippur. The university honored what he wanted and he signed.  

​

It was not easy for him at first. Studying English, after a long time in the military, from a rigorous training series, weekends of competitions with travel all over the US. Cold. Cold and Dan hates cold.

​

But, Dan, like Dan. Embarked on an impressive campaign of victories and led the BEARCATS to the NCAA Championship for the first time in its history.

Dan has been named the best player in AMERICA EAST for two years in a row
